Ranch Style

With an easy-going temperament and sense of pride in its genes, ranch style homes are known for both practicality and flexibility. The ranch home’s low profile comes from its roots in the Western United States, where working ranch homes were one-level, practical and unadorned. Early ranch homes were basic and informal. But the design went through a stylish evolution in the early 1960s, when more and more ranch homes were built with increasingly dramatic features, like varying roof lines, cathedral ceilings, sunken living rooms, and extensive landscaping and grounds.
